Keyword research is a major aspect of SEO, but many people still don’t think about it.
This article will be going over the top 10 strategies you can use for Advanced Keyword Research. There are three main steps to conducting good keyword research: targeting, analyzing, and ranking.
The more targeted your keywords are, the better chance that you have to rank high on search engine results pages (SERPs).

The Google Keyword Tool allows you to input your target keyword, choose up to 5 additional keywords and get related suggestions (based on Adwords competition).
With the Keyword Tool, you can sort your results by “Estimated Search Volume” to get an idea of how many times per month that particular keyword is searched for.
You can also sort the results by “Advertiser Competition” to determine which keywords are more competitive and which ones aren’t as much.
This is also a good way to plan out your content and find topics that you really think people want to find.
KWFinder doesn’t let you search for keywords, but it does tell you how hard it is for your particular site to rank for them based on your domain authority and page authority scores.
A high domain authority means that your site has been around for a while and is well-known. A high page authority means the same thing, but for pages on your site(s). The more links you have pointing back to a particular page of yours, the higher it will be scored.
They both give an estimate of how hard it will be to rank for a certain keyword. Pages that are considered harder to rank for receive a higher score than ones that aren’t.
For example, if you type the title of this post into KWFinder and sort by Page Authority, you’ll see something like this:

This shows you that it’s going to be much harder for this particular page of mine to rank for the keyword “advanced keyword research” compared to a page with a less authoritative score. KWFinder also provides alternative terms for those who are looking for even more keywords in their niche, but if one term is too competitive, why not use something else?
The idea of this post is for you to discover new ways to plan out your content so that you’re writing based on keywords that are actually being searched by people. It’s not a hard system, but it can be difficult to figure out how every keyword works and what to do with them once they’re in the content.
