The Quality Score is an automated rating system developed by Google which takes many factors into account when determining the best ad placement. The higher your quality score, the better chance you have at getting clicks from people who are looking for what you offer. We’ve compiled 8 tips that will help boost your game and make sure those conversions happen. Ready? Let’s do this!

How to get started with Google AdWords

Google AdWords is an easy, cost-effective way to increase traffic and sales for your business. If you’re just getting started, here are some tips!

The quality score is a number that Google assigns to ads in order to determine which ones will show up on the page with the most relevant content when someone searches for what you offer. So before we talk about how to improve it, let’s take a closer look at how it works!

Ad rank is determined by the quality score and an ad group’s bid. The higher your quality score, the higher your ad rank and the lower you set your maximum cost per click bid, the cheaper it will be to show your ads! Quality Score is important because only people who are actively looking for what you offer will click on your ad.

ProTip #1: Show up with the best quality score and get more clicks, which means more profit!

So now that we’re clear on what it is and how it works, let’s talk about some things you can do to improve it!

The first thing you want to do is check your quality score. To do this, go to the AdWords homepage and click on “Tools” then “Keyword Tool”.

This will take you to the Keyword Tool page. Enter a keyword that matches what you offer and select “Get Ideas”, in our case we’ll enter “pizza”. Write down how many impressions and clicks your ad has gotten on average over the last 30 days, then click “Ad Group Ideas”.

The Ad Group Ideas report will show you relevant keywords to use in an ad group. The quality score is given here as a percentage. If it’s 70% or above, chances are you’re doing well! Now that we know how it works and what it looks like, let’s talk about how to improve it!

ProTip #2: Improve your quality score for better ad position.

Quality Score is based on several factors including relevance, clicks, conversions and historical performance. It’s a bit of complicated math but the basic premise behind all of it is that Google wants you to succeed and that will come more out of quality than quantity!

To improve your Quality Score, check the following: Keyword Relevance : Make sure you’re using keywords that closely match what people actually type into Google when they’re looking for something like what you offer. If it’s not relevant to the search query, users won’t click on it and you won’t get as many conversions. More keywords mean more ad groups, which means more time to set them up and manage them!

Keep your number of keywords manageable so you can focus on writing ads that are relevant. Keyword Matching : Google Ads allows you to create an ad group for each separate keyword phrase that people might search for when they’re looking for what you offer. They’ll then show your ad with that keyword phrase alongside the search results in a column on the right hand side of the screen, below the actual search results.

To create an ad group based around one keyword phrase, follow these steps: Click “Tools” and “Campaign Settings”. In campaign settings, enter one keyword phrase in the “Campaign name” and another in the “Ad group – Ad serving text”.

Click on each ad group that you’ve already created. Go to the expanded view which will show you a list of all keywords that match your ad groups. Click on each keyword and click “Edit”. Change the settings from “matching broad keyword” to “matching exact keyword”.

Using broad keywords is an easy way to match more searches so you’ll get more impressions and clicks, but search results will often be less relevant. This will hurt your quality score! Make sure you write a great ad : The better the ad that you publish, the more likely someone is to click on it. Write a compelling ad that really stands out and implements solid keyword research.

ProTip #3: You can get an extra boost by targeting your audience more specifically!

There are lots of ways to target people who are searching for specific things on Google Ads, so if you know what they’re looking for then it will be easier to target them with an ad that they’re more likely to respond well too. The more relevant your ads are and the better you are at targeting people who are interested in what you offer, the more successful your Google Ads campaign will be!

There are several ways you can target users on Google Ads including: Broad match keywords : This is when you match keywords that are similar to what you’re offering but aren’t an exact match. We talked about the importance of using broad match keywords in and they do bring in more impressions and clicks at the cost of quality score.

Choose specific audiences : If you know your target audience is based around a specific job title or demographic, you can show your ad to that group of people. For example, if you’re a marketing company and you know most of your customers are IT professionals, then it makes sense for you to target users who are searching for “IT director salary” or any other relevant keyword they might use in their job description.

Match extensions : Google Ads allows you to create two styles of ad extensions that let you showcase more information about your business. One allows you to show a phone number alongside your ad and another lets you display additional text on the right-hand side of the screen. You can use search terms that are related to what people are searching for, and your ads will appear next to their searches.

Expanded text ads : This is a new format that allows you to expand the size of your ad and showcase more information about your business. You can use up to 30 characters at the top, or feature two different headlines in either a headline/description structure or description/headline structure. Keywords that people are searching for usually match their interests, so the size of your ad will matter less if people are more interested in what you have to say.

Targeting by location : If a customer is searching for a local business then they’re likely to be nearby, at least close enough that they might drive to your offices or other physical locations. Click-through rates on local ads can be 3-4 times higher than ads that target people who are further away.

Make sure you choose the right location and don’t just pick a big city nearby without doing your research (there’s certainly nothing wrong with cities like San Francisco, but if you’re a small startup then they might be too expensive to bid on). You can also use the keyword tool to see what words and phrases people are using in different locations, which will help you determine if a specific location is important for your business.

ProTip #4 : Get first page rankings and boost your conversion rates by increasing your click-through rate.

If you want to rank higher on google for a specific keyword, then make sure that your ad is as compelling and as high quality as possible so people will be more likely to click it. You can write better ads by using the keyword planner tool or the Google Search Keyword Planner Tool to see an estimate for how often a particular search term is used. You can use the keyword planner tool to find out what keywords your competitors are using, and you can also use the Google Trends tool to see which keywords people are searching for that might be related to your product or service.

If you know the search terms that people are using and you know how often they’re being searched, then it becomes easier to create an ad that will be relevant to them. You can also use the keyword tool’s “related search terms” section to discover new keywords that might help you spread your business further!

ProTip #5 : It might take time for Google Ads to accurately display your ads to the right people, but there are some things you can do to improve how well the system understands your business.

First, you can use Google’s keyword tool to find phrases related to your business. You can also create a list of keywords that describe what people are interested in, as well as the words and phrases that are most relevant to them. Keywords help potential customers identify your company and the services or products you can offer, so it makes sense to use them in your ad.

You can also create a negative keyword list, which is a list of words that you don’t want users to associate with your business (for example ”  hacker” and “free”). Google’s system will try to match what it finds on both lists so make sure your negatives are relevant because that could result in you missing out on potential customers.

Next, if you need help with ad copy then there are a number of tools available to help you create the best possible ads for your business. There are free sites such as Wordstream , and paid services such as AdRazor which offer tips on how to write better ads. These tools can be helpful for businesses of all sizes.

ProTip #6 : Your brand is what people think of when they hear your company name or see your logo.

You need to build a positive reputation in order for customers and potential clients to choose you over your competitors.

In the past, Google has actively censored criticism of Hillary Clinton and they’ve also allowed pedophile-related ads to run on youtube (there was a lot of controversy when someone discovered this). Their business model is based around advertising, so if you’re using their platform then it’s important to consider how your customers will be affected by their business practices.

ProTip #7 : If you find a competitor’s ad that you’d like to use as inspiration, don’t copy their text word-for-word.

There have been cases where people have plagiarized ads on Google, and if you copy/paste someone else’s words then your ad might be considered to be spam and they’ll ban your account. If you use the keyword tool or a similar site that allows you to view competitors’ ads then it becomes easier to develop new strategies for improving your conversion rates.

ProTip #8 : Test different headlines and images to see which ones get the most clicks, and then invest more in those ads.

It’s very important to keep track of your efforts so you can see which ads are performing best. You should build a system where you can easily copy/paste and insert new ads into existing campaigns, so that you don’t have to spend time creating new ads from scratch.

Bonus Pro Tip: Optimizing your landing page to convert visitors into customers can sometimes be the difference between failure and success.

You only have a few seconds to capture the attention of someone who’s landed on your page, so it’s very important to choose words that are relevant and will make them want to click your ads.

You can also use exit intent popups or landing page redirects to improve conversion rates when people are on your website.

What’s the difference between a landing page and sales page? A sales page is usually designed to sell someone something, while a landing page can be used for any purpose – in fact it’s sometimes even better if you’re not selling anything! If you want to improve conversion rates then it might be a good idea to create a landing page for each of your main products or services.

If you’re getting a low conversion rate then there could be something wrong with your website, and it’s important to address these issues before they prevent people from completing the action that you’d like them to take. Building an email list is one of the most important factors in successful marketing automation, and you’ll need to use a landing page or sales page if you want to grow this.

Bonus Pro Tip: Creating a campaign around a specific event or holiday can be an effective way to bring in more sales.

It’s important to continually test and improve your marketing campaigns – just because a strategy worked last month doesn’t mean that it’ll give you positive results this month. If you want to stay on top of trends in the digital marketing industry then you should consistently monitor sites like Google, Facebook, and Reddit. It’s also possible to use these sites as a way to stay up-to-date about various subjects that you’d like to learn more about.

As you’ve probably discovered, building an effective marketing strategy for your website can sometimes be difficult and frustrating… but it’s very important because this is the foundation of your business. If you’re not willing to invest time into creating a good marketing strategy then it doesn’t matter how high your conversion rates are or what industry you’re in – you won’t be successful as an entrepreneur .
